How to Eliminate Acne

When you get acne it can be really annoying especially when you get it around your lips. It can lead to some embarrassing moments and it makes you just want to try to pop them with a sharp needle. But squeezing them or popping them is really the worst thing you can do in that situation. It can leave you with very serious acne scars.

Try to keep on top of them by gently cleaning the area that is affected. You should try to use a well balanced cleanser and some tepid water for this, and make sure that the water is not too cold or too hot. Try to avoid scrubbing or rubbing them with any cloth that is abrasive.

Benzoyl peroxide is a lotion that is concentrated to only 2% and has been proven to quite effective for acne. This is just one of a number of lotions and creams that can easily be found from many drug stores.

There are certain lotions that have a higher concentration level that Benzoyl. But tests have shown that lotions with a maximum of 2% can be more effective for use with acne.

Occasionally Benzoyl peroxide may make your lips feel dry, so you should apply a light non-comedogenic moisturizer around the lips to combat this. The non-comedogenic moisturizer is proven to counteract any side effects that may occur if you use Benzoyl peroxide.

Popular cream or lotions that many acne sufferers use are sulfur based as these are thought to be very good at getting rid of acne.

Clean any affected areas regularly every morning and try not to apply any lotion to areas of the skin that are not affected. If necessary you could try to mask any unsightly spots or pimples with a preparation treatment.

Benzoyl peroxide and moisturizer can be applied directly after cleaning of the affected area. After just one week you should start to see an improvement.

If acne persists after a week or two it may be time to get the spots checked by a doctor. Perioral dermatitis is a possible symptom when spots appear on the lips, chin or nostril areas so it is very similar to acne. But this needs a different type of treatment from the acne treatment. An oral or topical medication is needed to get rid of perioral dermatitis.
